International FASD Awareness Day

Each year September 9th is designated as International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day. The goal of the day is to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking during pregnancy, promote prevention of alcohol-exposed pregnancies, and encourage support for individuals and families affected by FASD. However, anytime is a good time to raise awareness, provide education, and support families affected by FASD.

Share Your Story

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed a resources guide to help groups succesfully share their success stories. This is a great way to get the word out about FASD! Check out the workbook "Impact adn Value: Telling your Program's Story" for more ideas; and look for ongoing stories of success to be posted on our website. Contact Kristi Obmascher (kristi.obmascher@fammed.wisc.edu) for more information about the upcoming webpostings, or to share a success story.
